Default Did I go to the right show? I traveled all the way from utah for this?????

Wow, this show was a complete bust. I made it a priority to take time off my vacation in Surf City to visit it with my brother in law. What a joke. There was one overdone show only e46 M3, other than that, a bunch of crap. May as well have been a front wheel drive only vdub fest.

Not one significant or rare porsche, mercedes or audi, let alone all of the other makes they list. Wow, state of the art track???? I wish I had pics of the venue, the track looks like an abandoned road with retired jr high school bleachers placed along side 1/2 the lights didn't even work on the tree (none of them worked on the trap speed!!??). I figured those posted as sponsoring the event would actually be there. Yea right, nothing but a glorified high school parking lot meet and greet. The Nice Gal at the gate who took our money didn't even know if the BMW we arrived in was a european car. Not a single new dealer car. Come one, show me a AMG black, or a 997 gt3rs, or at least get VW to show up with a r32. I am so embarrased I brought my brother in law. He owns a 330i e90, loves his car, but not necessarily a car guy. I figured it would be great for him. Wow not one hot rare car (or bike for that matter.....wait, not a singe bike period). Not even one hot chick.

At least I stopped in to a town I would otherwise never visit. $20 to the local economy, they seem to need it more than I did.

Did I make it to the right show?????? This event wasn't even close to the type of event that was advertised. No new cars, no rare cars, no motorcycles. I am completely dumbfounded. Loss of words. Has anyone posted pics of this event? I wan't to make sure I made it to the right one. Why would you post pics on this website of all of these dope exotics, even modded out to the 10's, and then not have a single one. Damn. __________________

i was suprised that the turn out wasnt bigger than it was, but in the same aspect, if you acctually looked at the cars around there, alot of them were very dope. There was a raddo with a huge procharger on it, couple Audis running meth and BT's, even a harlequin MK3 smoking the track. Yeah the track isnt the best, but all in all the show wasnt a compleat bust.

You just had to look around and see the heart people put into the cars. You have to remember this was the first year of this show in this area. This was probly the biggest show of this area. so what would you excpect.

There are tons of pics on www.ncdubs.org

DID the right type of person come to the car show?

I'm going to say that I was pleasently suprised for a 1st-year car show. I'm not sure about some guy who suppossedly came from UTAH. FIgured he would've been talking to the guys from N.Y. or Texas about the comparisons on the drive. You came from Surf City on your vacation? How would you like to compare that to coming from UTAH? you decided to take a detour on your Vaca, and maybe you didn't like what you saw. I, however, completely appreciate the even that happened as a first year show.

Tell you what. Say what you will. It's your right to. Be less appreciative next time. But YOUR gonna do something first.

You pull out a show in Utah. I'll come there. I'll DRIVE there not for a vacation miles and miles away but STRAIGHT to your show. YOU put it on and work as hard as people I know did and YOU show me what you have. Your able to pull people as you say then put it up.

Call it " UTAH'S AWSOMENESS" or whatever you can come up with.
I'll come there and take pictures rather than rely on other people for em.

I mean, when I go on a vacation I always take a camera......

Dont forget tp post up here about your show now.......I'm looking forward to seeing what you can do. Your putting out that the product would be alot so I wanna know cause you've peaked my interests lol .

Gentlemen,
Regardless of what one of Utah's finest thinks I have to give you a hand. I think the first year was pretty good. Things tried and things learned. I'm still going to be looking forward to next year! There will only be growth.

Im down for UtahRennen I'll drive from WAAAY upstae NY (with my camera!) Will you have free sunburns and a beach near by? I cant wait, this sounds like it will be better then Waterfest or H20i! Im sure you will have all the local TVRs, PORSCHEs, BMWs, Aston Martins and a ton of Ferraris there? With such high hopes for a first run show, you should be able to pull it off! What about food? Cheese and Wine sound your speed? Are you going to hand out diapers for all the babies that show up and dont look around, take pics and cry about it? I hope there are nicer cars then a E46 on LMs, AUDI RS4 or a 1955 550, PVW feature rides and so on . . .

Maybe you should have changed your pad and taken some midol before rolling through the gate? I drove 900 miles for the show, nothing else. I went to have fun and I did. Slow 1/4 mile times and all! Talked to some cool people, saw some awesome cars (I even took pics) and I will be at EuroRennen 10'.

Maybe you should stick to BMW forums, BMW shows (or do they call the "events" due to being such duchebags?) and keep looking for the short bus Corky, it will be there soon.

Wink Read and go home

haha Good show frozen!

So i was talking to people about this post and they made good points, have you ever herd of these shows? SOWO, H2Oi, Dubs At The Beach, Dubs At the Lake, you know shows like that?

Im sure you have, if not you live under a rock, they all started out like this show did, small and simple.

Did you go to H2Oi last year? If not let me recap it for you, 10,000 Spectators with about 6,000 cars. Yeah it happens, We know that over there un Utah there isnt much to do but complain about having nice cars and no shows, that has to be the reason you made this show in bum-f' NC a part of your vacation, but it dosent mean bomb this site. Jason did a more than fantastic job for the first year. Everyone knows it.
